What the Role Is

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and distillery workers, such as distillery operators, utility operators, janitors, and maintenance technicians. Provide weekend coverage and vacation coverage for Distillery Supervisors as detailed below.

    How You Will Spend Your Time?

    • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production and processing of distillate.
    • Provide weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday) on assigned shifts and work at least two additional shifts during the week.
    • On the weekends, if one Supervisor is off, the other two split the open shift between them.
    • Provide vacation coverage for Distillery Supervisor on assigned shift (i.e., 2nd shift Supervisor provides vacation coverage for 2nd shift Supervisor).
    • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
    • Observe work and monitor process control equipment and instrumentation to ensure operators conform to production and processing standards.
    • Conduct employee training in equipment operations, work, and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
    • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
    • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production rates and outputs.

    • Previous distilled spirits industry experiences valued but not required

    Reporting to this position: Bargaining Unit Employees including Distillery Operators, Utility Operators, and Janitors.

    Physical demands and work environment: While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb stairs; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
