What the Role Is
The 2nd Shift Bottling Line Supervisor will provide leadership and direction for a team of employees including supporting and developing team members, focusing and promoting continuous improvement and leading change. Additionally, he/she must understand and interpret business objectives and transfer the information to appropriate people across the organization to ensure company goals and objectives are achieved.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all Personal Protective Equipment, control points, equipment, and resources; maintains compliance to OSHA and company policies and procedures
  • Accomplishes manufacturing requirements of high-quality distilled spirits products by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, training, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning employees, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, and resolving problems
  • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
  • Lead and support continuous improvement activities, participating in problem solving teams and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supports and Maintains a Continuous Improvement work environment by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests
  • Resolves problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by working collaboratively and following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Meet quality expectations by inspecting materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
  • Schedule and conduct communication meetings with team members
  • Lead by example and hold employees accountable for work practices that support organizational goals and objectives
  • Responsible for shift schedule to include work assignments, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, and timely and accurate recording of employee’s time and attendance and administering disciplinary actions

Who You Are…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent years of supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • 2-4 years of prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead effectively in a union environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques and equipment
  • Strong teamwork approach with employees and departments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A highly motivated team player who contributes to and creates an atmosphere in which people collaborative, enthusiastically and effectively produce results
  • Must be flexible with the ability to adapt, change and grow
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Distilled spirits bottling industry experience preferred


Reporting to this Position:

All Bottling Line classifications covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Will generally be 15 - 20 employees.
