Summary/Objective:

We are looking for a Process Operator to join the Black Velvet team. This position is responsible for safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the distillery. This includes but is not limited to; grain transferring, milling, mashing, fermenting, distillation, dryhouse operations, water treatment, boiler operation and cooling tower operation.

Essential Job Functions:

• Able to work/communicate with other employees in a team problem-solving environment

• Able to work shift work including a rotation of nights, weekends, and holidays

• Remain current in all distillery functions and make recommendations for improvements

• Participate in and coordinate projects with other departments, consultants, contractors, and other distillery personnel to improve product quality, production efficiencies, and reliability

• Work with other departments and contractors to ensure smooth efficient operation and maintenance of the distillery

• Keep all areas of the operation in a clean and presentable condition

• Be aware of their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance to all company policies

• Be aware of and adhere to all legal requirements as outlined by ABSA regarding the safe care and operation of boilers and pressure vessels

• Utilize trade related competencies when required to keep the distillery running efficiently

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate valid in the Province of Alberta.

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements:

• Physical Requirements are varied and may be extreme. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods at times, but other times may be on their feet for long periods. Frequent trips up and down flights of stairs and ladders may be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

• Work Environment: Working conditions in certain areas of the distillery are hot, cold, wet, slippery, dusty, and noisy. Involves exposure to hazardous conditions. Rotating 12-hour shifts including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

2.0 years $ 43.11 $ 112,728.00

3.5 years $ 46.11 $ 120,421.00

Further increases in wages beyond the table are available upon the completion of company reimbursed training in the art of distillation
