What the Role Is
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of cistern room/warehouse employees including truck drivers, pumper utility, utility, cistern room/assistant cistern room operators, working forepersons, laborers, or production specialists.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Plan work schedules and assign duties; prepare and maintain work records; evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
  • Review work throughout the process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly; communicate with designated employees and departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
  • Transmit and explain work orders to truck drivers, operators, working forepersons, laborers, and production specialists; collaborate with workers and managers to sole work-related problems.
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders; examine freight to determine loading sequences
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.

Who You Are… (Requirements & Qualifications)

  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, continuous improvements, safety, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is frequently required to stand; climb stairs; walk; use hands and fingers and use a computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to successfully complete and maintain a medical evaluation certification (MEC) per DOT for operating company vehicle/s that exceed a GVWR of 10,001 pounds.
