What the Role Is
The Deep Eddy Vodka Visitor Center Host will greet individuals or groups upon entry to the facility. This will be a part-time position. Schedule: Thursday - Sunday (with a rotation on the weekends) Pay: $20.00/hour
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs
- Divulge information that keeps the guests focused on the topic of interest while highlighting the visual artifacts and other offerings
- Describe tour points of interest to group members, and respond to questions
- Act as an educator by providing unique and important facts to inform the visitor’s curiosity.
- Attain and expand personal knowledge of the Company, its products, and the distilled spirits industry
- Effectively sell our products and services to customers
- Monitor visitors’ activities to ensure compliance with establishment
- Provide directions and other pertinent information to visitors
- Work and assist in the preparation of events and meetings at the DEV Dripping Springs Visitor Center as required
- Work in our retail store, tasting bars and perform light janitorial responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale system in the gift shop
Who You Are…
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years’ of related experience
- Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to talk to others to convey information effectively
- Service Orientation – actively looking for ways to help people
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work in a team and be a self-starter
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and technology, including cash registers, point-of-sale systems, scanners, etc.
- TABC certified and TX Food Handler Certified
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous work experience in the distilled spirits industry
- Familiarity with Vodka knowledge and language
- Previous work experience in a visitor center, tourist attraction or retail gift shop
