What the Role Is

We are looking for a Power BI Engineer. This is someone who is very familiar with Power BI implementation best practices and who has a thorough understanding of how to manage the application- from admin settings, workspaces, security settings, and everything in between. The candidate will have experience designing and implementing Power BI data models and experience designing reports, dashboards, and apps as well.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Design, implement, and maintain systems used to collect and analyze business data
  • Help the business create dashboards, databases, and other platforms to allow for efficient collection and evaluation of BI Data
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gain an understanding of BI goals and objects to ensure the systems and their capabilities support competitive efforts and achieve those goals
  • Train other staff members in the use of Power BI
  • Specify, design, build, and support data warehousing and BI Solutions
  • Create dashboards and KPIs
  • Design and maintain data models used for reporting and analytics
  • Monitor and tune BI tools
  • Work with IT and other groups to ensure data accuracy
  • Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
  • Modify existing reports, extract, dashboards, and cubes as necessary
  • Identify development needs
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written
  • Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurring reporting and in-depth analysis through Power BI

Who You Are…

  • Posses essential skills in transition: knowledge of MS SQL Server, SQL, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services
  • Have experience with Programming languages: SQL, DAX
  • An attitude of continuous improvement and learning
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Preferred but not required skills in R and Python
  • Familiarity with R Shiny Applications
  • Understanding of the RStudio Team set of applications
  • Familiarity with data sources used in the spirits industry (Nielsen, NABCA, SRS, etc)
